Complaint
A big package for a small company: full fee even for a company with no activity
In the reported cases companies with a handful of transactions a year, no employees or no activity yet are quoted the price of the most comprehensive package. No smaller package, dormant-company rate or annual-report-only option is offered; when asked, the same price is defended with answers like “accounting is accounting”. The result is a yearly cost out of proportion to the volume of business, and at the end of the first year a decision to close the company or move to another provider. (Opinion: not scaling the service to the customer’s real volume suggests that pricing rests on the customer’s lack of information rather than on cost.)
This card describes a complaint type rather than one incident; details may vary from report to report.

How to recognise this situation
- The broadest package is quoted even for a company with a handful of transactions or no activity.
- No dormant-company or annual-report-only option is offered.
- Why the package is needed is not explained by transaction volume.
Questions to ask the provider
- Do you have a package for companies with no or very few transactions?
- What is your fee for preparing only the annual report?
- Based on what transaction volume did you recommend this package?
What to do about this type of complaint
Judge the price against a published price list and a written scope, not against a quote alone; have the renewal rule written into the contract and compare with the listed prices of providers on the e-Residency Marketplace. Pay by card where possible so that a dispute route stays open if the service is not delivered.
